First year college students who have experienced homelessness & foster care receive unexpected love and support on move-in day.

UCLA has 100 incoming freshmen who are Foster Youth.  Let's honor their achievement & help them move into dorms with the basic essentials they need!

What do we still need? 100 of each:

  • Bath Towels
  • Toiletries & Shower Caddies
  • Power strips & Lamps
  • Notebooks, Pens, Pencils, Highlighters
  • Food Gift Cards

Already donated, thank you!!!
- 100 Sheets, quilts, pillows, shampoo

UCLA Bruin Guardian Scholars Program serves 140 current and former Foster youth who attend UCLA. These students have overcome barriers such as homelessness, family mental health issues, and abuse throughout their lives and are extremely resilient. This program provides a welcoming community for its members and builds a community of peers who have faced similar challenges in life.

Note on Donations: Crowd funding sites take 7-9%. We are volunteers who are aggregating and matching donations, and making sure every penny goes directly to buying essentials. UCLA Foundation Tax ID #95-2250801

The Dorm move in event was a huge success thanks to your donations and volunteering! We were able to equip all the students with sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, toiletries, extension cords, lamps, school supplies, food gift cards etc. and help them settle into their dorm rooms. Thank you for your generosity and energy!
